Irina Gewinner Leibniz University of Hanover Germany
Dr Irina Gewinner is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Sociology, Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany. Apart from gender, social inequalities and policy, she studies culturally anchored traditions and stereotypes that underlie human agency: in her doctorate, she proposed a theoretical model of gendered career choices. Her current project is dedicated to career paths of (migrant) scholars in the early and mid-career, where Irina investigates to what extent these are influenced by individual family structures, organisational gender cultures and geographical contexts in global academia. Here, she works interdisciplinary at the interface of sociology, Gender Studies, cultural studies, tourism and business studies.
